Mark Cray - Actor

Mark Cray is a working actor born and raised in Minnesota. Throughout his childhood Mark performed in many theatrical plays including Brigadoon and The Sting. He went to the state championships as a Public Speaking contestant before joining the military after high school. After four years of outstanding service to our country Mark traveled down from the land of ice and snow to expand upon his craft at Toledo University. Here he got his first real taste in film with the independent short film ‘Weeding the Garden’. As fortune would have it the aspiring actor would have to wait several years to get his next taste of the so called acting bug. Mind you this was not for a lack of trying. No, Mark put his dreams aside for almost a decade to start a family. He is now lives happily with his loving wife and four beautiful daughters. With the support of his family Mark is pushing onward with his dream of acting. His first full-length independent film, ‘The Grindhouse Massacre’, was a hit and he has since continued his career with such films as "Reunion" and ‘The Horror Convention Massacre’, recipient of the ‘Golden Coconut’ for best horror film at the Miami Underground Film Festival in March of 2007.

Mark is finally hitting his stride and considered an ‘up and comer’, with 3 films scheduled to premiere this fall. ‘Never Escape’ by Mancinetti Pictures in Sept. as well as ‘The Ritual’ by Fleet Street Films Premiering at the Newark Film Festival and playing at such venues as Dark X-mas, Crypticon, and a slew of others. And the long awaited ‘Voodoo Rising’ is set to Premiere in October. You can follow along with Mark through Myspace: www.myspace.com/markcray, his website www.markcray.com , and on Facebook…be sure to mention who sent you!

1).Tell us in detail, the scariest nightmare, you’ve ever had.

I was standing in the middle of a football arena wearing only a leather codpiece and armed and armed with a spork when I was suddenly attacked by 20 ninja midgets who beat me down ( ninja midgets are still ninja's after all) and forced me to watch reruns of "Maude"... my left eye twitched for about week afterwords!

2).What was the last concert you attended, was it worth the price of admission? Why?

That would be Jackyl and Aerosmith (yeah, I'm getting old, sue me) in MPLS, MN.. it was a good show but weather outside was terrible blizzard conditions and we only made it half way back to the range before we had to pull over into a roach motel for night. Me and my date played coed nekked twister till wee hours of dawn.. so it worked out..hehe

3).If the world were over run with zombies, where would you seek safety and what worldly possessions would you require to stay sane?

I would make a bee-line to the nearest cruise-liner (preferably not one littered with zombies, hijack it to the high seas and live out the rest of my days in sun and fun... and I'd bring a gymnastics teams along for company to stay sane. *grins*

4).If you had to be stranded all alone on a desert island for a year, name the top five movies you would want to have with you to pass the time. (Sure the VCR works…it’s solar powered!)

Star Wars 4, 5, 6 (pre-Greedo shooting first), The Devils Advocate and the Fifth Element.
5).If you could have dinner with any artist (in any form) living or dead, who would it be? What would the conversation include, and what would you order for the main course?

GWAR, Global Domination, and a cow.. that's right a whole cow.. we could cut our own steaks ourselves.

6).What song puts goosebumps on your arm and takes you right back to an earlier time in your life?Explain why.

Songs don't give me goosebumps, I just don't roll like that. but anytime I hear "Sir Psycho Sexy" I'm reminded of back in '92 while I was on leave from the army that whenever they heard the song they were reminded of me. we had sex in the park later that day. *grins*

7). Do you believe there is life on other planets? Explain.

I would like to believe there is life on other planets. it's hard to imagine that in all the universe we are the only ones here.

8).What was your favorite television show when growing up and why?

TJ Hooker.. Capt Kirk and Heather Locklear.. what a great combo!

9). Tell us of a loved one no longer with us, and explain how their death has changed your life.

That would have to be my Grandmother. she taught me how to stand up for myself and keep fighting until you have nothing left, then take another swing.

10). You have one day to live…how is it spent?

Sitting on a beach, watching the tides, drinking a Pina Colada and just relaxing for a change.... who am I kidding.. i'd probably hosting a ninja midget UFC battle royal and then a after party and "have sex till I die" bash.. ( the ninja midgets wouldn't be invited.. they still creep me out too much..hehe)
